The Open is an annual event where athletes from around the world compete in five workouts over five weeks for a chance to qualify for the CrossFit Games. This year’s competition included more than 300,000 participants worldwide.

Thea and Johnny were first place finishers in the 55+ category, showing that age is no barrier when it comes to competing at a high level.

“It was amazing to see how well our older athletes did,” said Coach Jeremy. “They really showed everyone that age isn’t a factor when it comes to pushing yourself.”

Special shoutouts also go out to Haley Huntley, who decided to challenge herself and redo 23.1 Rx and absolutely crushed it, as well as Jeffrey, who went from zero muscle ups to four on his second attempt.

At CrossFit Angier we pride ourselves on pushing our athletes to reach their goals in fitness and life. With one week down, we can’t wait to see what Week 2 has in store for us!
